Japanese Garden

Rare bamboo plants were placed in the garden as a gift from the Department of Forestry of Western Australia. This Department received a gift of the bamboo from the Forestry Department in Kagoshima, Japan. The garden flourishes and is located within an atrium style space in building 401. The 1973 campus master landscape plan included amongst other goals, an aim of giving each departmental building its own visual identity through landscaping and garden design. English and Language Studies were located in this building. Japanese was one of the languages taught.
